Automation & Controls
At the heart of any building or facility is the automation and controls system. Our long and extensive history in this field enables us to provide a range of services, including;
- Complete systems engineering and implementation, (both new construction and retrofit projects),
- Existing system analysis and reporting,
- Systems integration consulting and implementation.
Systems Engineering
From basic electronic controllers to full scale, multi-user DDC systems, we have the technical expertise to provide the best solution to match your projects needs. Cortec has access to multiple product ranges to provide complete automation and controls systems engineering.
Whether you require a simple HVAC control system requiring a single thermostat, a large commercial building requiring a DDC system and full graphical front-end or a semi-industrial installation such as a winery requiring PLC and SCADA technology, we can engineer a system using the best products to meet the requirements of the installation.
Some of the products we use include;
- Circon Systems Corporation NEW! 18/8/05
- Schneider Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and operator interfaces/displays,
- CitectSCADA front end software.
System Analysis
Our experience and understanding of how buildings really work enables us to provide independent analysis of your existing automation and control system. We can evaluate a wide range of installation types, including pneumatic, electronic, DDC and PLC (subject to accessibility).
Services available range from baseline documentation of your installation, to performance evaluation and even project management of the improvement recommendations.
Wherever possible we endeavour to work in partnership with your existing automation controls contractor to ensure service continuity and ongoing support.
System integration consulting
With new technologies constantly emerging, the task of keeping up-to-date is a difficult one. The evolution of open protocols is beginning to reach into day to day operation of systems. While the idealistic vision of systems being able to ‘plug and play’ is yet to be realised, the task of designing and implementing connected systems is possible.
At cortec, we have had real world experience in implementing integrated systems. Whether it be a native BACnet™ system or a custom interface written for a specific solution, we are able to produce results.
